Description
Background PSA is a glycoprotein enzyme encoded in humans by the KLK3 gene. also known as gamma-seminoprotein or kallikrein-3 (KLK3). PSA is present in small quantities in the serum of men with healthy prostates, but is often elevated in the presence of prostate cancer or other prostate disorders Labeaze Human PSA Gene Detection kit was designed to detect PSA mRNA (cDNA) in a real time PCR and endpoint PCR format by utilizing modified fluorescent probe to produce target-specific fluorescent amplicons. The probe is labeled with a reporter fluorophore (fluorescein) and a dark quencher (DABSYL), which produce a high signal-to-noise ratio. Upon incorporation into new amplicons, the probe is fluorescent, released into the solution and reported in the instrument’s FAM layer. When performed on a thermal cycler capable of real-time fluorescence detection, the amplification products of the PCR reaction can be monitored directly in a quantitative fashion, allowing evaluation of template detection in a single, closed-tube system with no additional assay procedures. Where required, template standard curves may be employed to quantitatively determine gene expression level. Melting curve analysis can be used to identify the possibility of primer dimmer formation
